Mission

Dominquez Archaeological Research Group, Inc. (DARG) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation established in 2003 to serve as a catalyst for innovative and collaborative archaeological research, preservation and education in the Colorado Plateau and associated regions.
DARG's strategic mission is to provide an organizational and operational environment that facilitates:
• Professional excellence and the application of high standards in archaeological research, preservation, information management and education.
• Scientific rigor and the development and application of advanced archaeological data capture and research methods.
• Innovative, collaborative approaches to archaeological research and preservation that integrate knowledge and expertise from diverse professional, institutional, governmental and public sources.
We function as a consortium of independent research associates and technical advisors. Our operational focus is to coordinate research, raise and administer funding, and manage projects that advance our shared values and mission.
DARG's principals and associates have extensive archaeological experience in Colorado, Utah and numerous other states in the intermountain west, and longstanding professional relationships within the archaeological and cultural resource management community. They have managed and conducted hundreds of archaeological surveys and numerous excavations, and recorded thousands of archaeological sites. DARG Technical Advisors provide expertise from a diverse range of technical disciplines and fields of archaeological research.
